Adventures With Duck starts now

So I have finally taken the jump into retirement. My feet have pushed me into doing this, but I am ready. My last day at work was yesterday (at the time of writing this post) Today and the next few days will be sorting and packing. Then I will head for Oregon which will be my new home. I will be stopping by my brothers place for a few days. He has a project he wants some help with. I like working with him we get shit done as it should be. Then he and I will head to the new place to hang my hat. He knows all the cool spots down there to fish, and if its a good place to fish that means its a good place for wildlife.... That ticks the two best boxes of my world. Now I know I haven't posted on here in a long while, but that was by design. I have been out taking pictures like crazy and have tons to share on here, but not knowing when I will have time to get out when I first get moved I wanted to have plenty of backup content. Over the next week I may not post again as I will be readying for my move. Today I will post photos from my retiremnet party and a few of the photos from outings with friends. My evenings are filling up fast. I have dinner plans over the next five days with only one night that I am free. I am in awe with all the peple wishing me well on my Adventure. for now I will leave you with the party!
And my favorite photo of them all. I will miss this young lady like crazy. She wasn't just my boss, she was the best of friends. (theres another person from work that fits the bill but I haven't gotten the photo yet.) But this lady will always have my heart, and I will miss her more than she knows. I think of her like one of my own kids.

Here There Be Dragons

So as some of you know I have moved to South western Oregon. Where I live there are tons of places to go for wildlife photos. I have become fond of taking Dragonfy pics and have been learning more about them. For one, they have remained pretty much unchanged for th last 320 million years. The only real change is their size. They went from having a Two foot wingspan to about a 3 inch wingspan. They are also thought to be the most effcient hunters on the planet with a seccess rate of 90 to 95%. What I am going to post here are photos of the Dragons and I will attempt to name them as best I can. Some maybe repeted only because the females of some of the spieces are hard to tell apart. Beauty And The Beast

Thats right I have beauty and the beast in this post. I will do the beauty first, but please keep scrolling and see the beasts. I'll give you all the info I have on them as we go. Now the first "Beauty" was taken with the Canon R7 which has gotten a lot of bad press over its time in the market. Not all has been bad, but when you combine it with the 800mm canon lens it gets even more bad press. Well I took it one step further and added a 1.4x teleconverter to the mix. I know there are photographers that would scream at me for doing that. Well all I can say is.... Then become a pretter photographer. I will post Three photos that I have taken with this combo and I believe them to be some of the best photos I have ever taken. Not because of the subject, but because they are great photos.
