My Favorite Photos From My Last Big Trip

I will be posting my favorite photos from my trip to Oregon. Most of these you have not seen as I have held back from posting them just for this post. There won't be a lot of reading... Just a lot of seeing.
The Photos above are just from the last Saturday Trip, so this is going to be a long, long post.
The last photo above of the Elephant, she looks so uncomfortable. She is VERY pregnant.
Well there are my favorite photos from that trip. I hope you like them half as much as I do. I have had several short one day trips over the past few weeks and the last full week of May I will once again be on the move. This time I have no set plans. Right now I am leaning on the coast, either in washington or Oregon or both. No matter where I end up, it will be where I am supose to be and I will get some great photos. So follow along and see what I see.

So I have finally taken the jump into retirement. My feet have pushed me into doing this, but I am ready. My last day at work was yesterday (at the time of writing this post) Today and the next few days will be sorting and packing. Then I will head for Oregon which will be my new home. I will be stopping by my brothers place for a few days. He has a project he wants some help with. I like working with him we get shit done as it should be. Then he and I will head to the new place to hang my hat. He knows all the cool spots down there to fish, and if its a good place to fish that means its a good place for wildlife.... Here There Be Dragons

So as some of you know I have moved to South western Oregon. Where I live there are tons of places to go for wildlife photos. I have become fond of taking Dragonfy pics and have been learning more about them. For one, they have remained pretty much unchanged for th last 320 million years. The only real change is their size. They went from having a Two foot wingspan to about a 3 inch wingspan. They are also thought to be the most effcient hunters on the planet with a seccess rate of 90 to 95%. What I am going to post here are photos of the Dragons and I will attempt to name them as best I can. Some maybe repeted only because the females of some of the spieces are hard to tell apart. So here we go.... This one is called a "Blue Dasher" and its a female. This one is the male. This one I see often, its a Common Whitetail Dragonfly. It has a wide body compared to the ones above. Beauty And The Beast

Thats right I have beauty and the beast in this post. I will do the beauty first, but please keep scrolling and see the beasts. I'll give you all the info I have on them as we go. Now the first "Beauty" was taken with the Canon R7 which has gotten a lot of bad press over its time in the market. Not all has been bad, but when you combine it with the 800mm canon lens it gets even more bad press. Well I took it one step further and added a 1.4x teleconverter to the mix. I know there are photographers that would scream at me for doing that. Well all I can say is.... Then become a pretter photographer. I will post Three photos that I have taken with this combo and I believe them to be some of the best photos I have ever taken. Not because of the subject, but because they are great photos.
